Hope all of you are good and having fun! Mother’s Day is just here! I was wondering how this year has been passed quickly. I couldn’t think of any particular gift for mum, so I ended up making few of these. And believe me they just took a day each. If you want to make something all by yourself for your mum, here are simple yet beautiful things which are easy to make and can be a nice gift and a real fun-filled craft with pleasure for beginners.
So here you go …& hurry up… Start making!!
1. Yellow and Grey Colour Block Purse Pattern:
- Ch – chain
- Sc – single crochet
- Hdc – half double crochet
- Dc – double crochet
- Tr – treble crochet
- Sl st – slip stitch
- St – stitch
Ch40 (you can take as many or less as you want).
Row 1: Hdc in the 2nd ch. Hdc till the last st. Now continue making hdc on the other side of the base chain. Join with a sl st. You will be working in rounds.
Row 2-9: Continue making hdc all over like before until you get desired height of first colour(grey). I made 9 rows of each colour.
Row 10-18: Join the second colour and start making hdc all over until you get desired height of the purse.
Row 19: Join the first colour. hdc all over. Join with sl st, fasten off.
For the flower, here is the tutorial… A Little Crochet Flower Pattern.
2. Grey-Red-Off white Colour Block Purse Pattern:
Pattern is similar to the yellow-Grey purse above. Difference is I’ve done this with dc instead of hdc. And of course the number of the rows & colours varies. The flower I’ve made here is slightly different. See the pattern below:
Using off-white yarn, make a magic ring.
Row 1: ch1(as 1sc), 3dc, 1sc. Repeat until you get 5 petals. Join with a sl st into the ch1 at the beginning. Turn.
Row 2: Now working on the back side, ch2, sc into the sc between the petals.
You are actually making the loops at the back of each petal. In these loops you will be making the bigger red petals. Cut the off-white yarn. Tie red yarn.
Row 3: Continue working in the wrong side. *Ch3 (considered as 1 tr), make 5tr, ch3(as last tr). Total 7tr in the 1st loop. Join with sl st into the same loop*.
Row 4: Sl st into the next loop. Repeat from *to* from row 3. You will get total 5 big petals. Fasten off. Add a matching button in the middle if you want to. Your Pretty flower is ready.
3. Grey-Off White Purse With Orange Flower Pattern:
Here is one more similar pattern as above. The flower is also same as the red one above. Here I’ve made 7 petals and added buttons in the centre.
Hope you enjoy making these cute purses. Happy Mother’s Day in advance..!
